Services

1.0 GENERAL:
- This specification outlines the basic requirements for remanufacturing automotive transmissions to be used in ground support equipment.
- All transmissions shall be remanufactured in accordance with the original manufacturer's specifications using only prescribed tools and oil.
2.0 REMANUFACTURE:
- All parts permitted for reuse shall be inspected to verify that they are equal or better than original condition and dimensional tolerance.
- Completely disassemble the transmission and thoroughly clean and inspect all internal and external parts including case and housing.
- Separate the valve body and thoroughly clean and inspect all components.
- Replace all friction clutch plates with new friction clutch plates.
- Replace all shifting bands regardless of condition with new or relined bands. Replace other defective bands with new or relined bands.
- Inspect all steel clutch plates. Flat steel clutch plates which are not warped, burnt, or scored may be reused after reconditioning to remove the surface finish caused by normal friction contact. Replace all waved or dished steel clutch and steel clutch plates that are warped, burnt or scored with new or reconditioned steel clutch plates.
- Replace all diaphragm type clutch piston return springs with new springs.
- Replace all internal and external seals and gaskets with new seals and gaskets.
- Replace all metal and teflon sealing rings with new sealing rings.
- Replace all other defective parts with new or sound used parts.
- Replace front and rear seal support bushings (except finished in place) with new bushings.
- Replace organic media filters with new filters.
- Replace vacuum modulator with new modulator or replace modulator diaphragm with new diaphragm if transmission is so equipped.
- Install all other preventative maintenance assembly set components not previously mentioned.
- During reassembly, all parts not previously mentioned must be inspected and any additional defective parts reconditioned or replaced with new, remanufactured or sound used parts.
- Measure all clearances and tolerances and make adjustments as required to meet or exceed QEM specifications.
- All parts to be assembled shall be verified clean from all machining particles or any other form of residue and contamination.
- As assembly progresses, a light film of the appropriate transmission oil to be used in the lubrication system will be applied to all bearing and running surfaces.
- Proper torque as specified by the original manufacturer shall be applied on all studs, bolts and nuts in the proper sequence.
3.0 TRANSMISSION ACCESSORIES:
- All remanufactured transmissions shall have a reconditioned torque converter installed and strapped in place for shipment.
- 3.2 Ford Cruise-O-Matic transmission shall have a Ford SK-3VL shift kit installed to reduce hydraulic pressure to the reverse servo.
4.0 TRANSMISSION TEST:
- Transmission / torque converter assembly shall be filled with the proper oil and test run for 15 minutes to check control pressures, proper shifting, and unit leakage. After test run, oil shall be drained and a new pan gasket installed before shipment.
5.0 STORAGE / SHIPMENT:
- To protect unit from contamination, all holes must be plugged or capped. This includes cooling lines, oil filter hole, speedometer drive hole, and converter hub drive end.
- A permanent identification plate shall be attached to each remanufactured transmission. Data shall include the date of remanufacture, model and serial number, remanufacturer's trade name. Transmission's part number shall be stenciled on the side in 1" lettering.
- Mount transmission securely to a heavy-duty shipping pallet with a solid bottom and forklift capability. Cover transmission with sealed plastic envelope.
WARRANTY:
Seller will warrant the overhauled transmission in this agreement for a period of one year, including parts and labor.
Seller also agrees to issue Labor Allowance Credits to Buyer on any warranty no charge on repaired transmission in the following.
Labor Allowance Credit $150.00
The Seller reserves the right to inspect the warranty claim transmission prior to removal, provided such inspection does not delay or otherwise negatively impact the Buyer’s operation.
